Take-away is an ongoing exploration of independent restaurants across London, celebrating the diversity of food and showcasing the vibrant tapestry of cultures and cuisines that make the city unique. As a freelance photographer, I find joy in exploring the city through my work, discovering new places, and capturing the beauty of these establishments, focusing on their interiors and the stories they tell about their communities.
Throughout the lockdown, Take-away evolved into a portrayal of the resilience of these independent businesses amidst uncertainty. Some establishments had to close their doors permanently, while others opted for take-away services to sustain themselves. The empty spaces and the new arrangements within them highlighted the changing landscape of dining and social interaction.
